WDE booth at Children's/book festival downtown

El Día de los Niños/El Día de los Libros was a day full of fun and activities for the whole family. World Dance Exchange was there to help celebrate dances from all around the world with an interactive booth, performances and dance classes. At our booth we provided a vast array of dance items from Mexico, Brazil, Spain and the Middle East. However, the most popular part of our booth was our activity, you teach us a dance and we teach you one. The kids absolutely loved the activity and we enjoyed teaching and interacting with them.

Our team members taught and performed a large variety of dances from their native countries. We had an upbeat and energetic Bhangra dance performance taught by Najah and troop. After which Diana taught the audience how to move and have fun to Latin dance beats. Sueli and her troop ended the set with a fast paced and exciting Axé performance. The audience, especially the kids, loved being able to dance and move with our team.

As always we couldn’t have had such a successful event without the support of all of our friends and volunteers. All in all we had a great time at the festival and hope to dance with all our friends next year. If you happened to miss our performances that day, you can still enjoy and learn from them by viewing the videos in our media page. As always join us at our next event or dance class and don’t forget to come dance with us.
